Common use of JOINT ADVISORY COMMITTEE Clause in Contracts

JOINT ADVISORY COMMITTEE. 15. U.A. Local 38 and the signatories to the Consolidated Crafts Agreement (collectively "the Unions") may, at their option, cause the establishment of a Joint Advisory Committee (Joint Committee) consisting of one member appointed by U.A. Local 38, one member appointed by the signatories to the Consolidated Crafts Agreement, and two members appointed by the City’s Employee Relations Director, which shall review and attempt to resolve grievances and other matters of concern including, but not limited to, the uniformity of interpretation of this Agreement. The Joint Committee may issue unanimous advisory non-binding opinions; however, nothing in this section shall authorize the Joint Committee to take any action that would bind either the Unions or the City. Any unanimous advisory non-binding opinion issued by the Joint Committee shall not be used by either party in any arbitration proceeding conducted under this Agreement or in any other adversary proceeding. No written opinions may be issued by the Joint Committee without the unanimous support of all four members. The Joint Committee shall calendar no less than four meetings per year on a quarterly basis.
