Jury Duty and Witness Services. Nurses who report for jury service or who serve on a jury, or serving as a witness on behalf of Providence in response to a duly-issued summons or subpoena shall be compensated at their regular rate of pay for the scheduled shifts missed due to jury duty. The nurse shall reimburse the Medical Center for any compensation received for jury duty and shall not be required to use vacation. Night shift nurses may elect to receive compensation under this section for either the shift before or following jury duty. If a nurse is released from jury duty they are not required to return to work to complete their shift. If a nurse voluntarily elects to return to work, they will be paid the applicable rate of pay.
