PTO Donations. If any employee of the Medical Center suffers a serious injury or illness and that employee is eligible to receive donation as determined by the Medical Center, nurses may donate PTO time to the sick/injured employee.
PTO Donations. A nurse otherwise eligible to donate paid time off (PTO) under the Hospital’s PTO donation policy shall be allowed to donate in four (4) hour increments, and not be limited to eight (8) hour increments.
PTO Donations. (a) Bargaining Unit Employees may donate PTO hours to other regular full and part time employees who are on approved leaves of absence and have exhausted their PTO banks pursuant to the PTO Donation policy.

Bargaining unit employees who are part of the bargaining team may receive accrued PTO time from bargaining unit members who choose to donate their accrued PTO to a designated team member. Donations must be received within two weeks of the negotiations.

Donations are made on an hour for hour basis. The minimum donation is 1 hour. The donating employee may not donate if the total number of donated hours would result in his/her own bank being less than 40 hours at the time of the donation. Donated hours are transferred to the receiving employee’s PTO bank. Donated hours will not be returned to donor.
PTO Donations. The Hospital may designate an employee in need of leave who has exhausted his/her PTO as suffering a hardship and eligible to receive PTO donations from other employees. An employee on Family and Medical Leave under Article 13.2 shall be conclusively presumed to be suffering from a hardship. After making the donation, the employee must have at least forty (40) hours remaining in his/her PTO account. Any hours donated are transferred to the other designated employee on an irrevocable basis.

A nurse desiring to utilize PTO shall request the desired PTO as far in advance as is reasonable, but not less than four (4) weeks before the work schedule is posted. The nurse will be notified in writing a reasonable time before the requested PTO whether the PTO is approved. A nurse will be paid no more than her accrued PTO. In the case of conflicting requests for PTO, seniority shall prevail; seniority shall not affect approved PTO. Nurses requesting to schedule PTO over 60 days in advance will be notified in writing at least thirty (30) days in advance of the requested PTO whether their request is approved. Holiday Pay. Nurses required to work on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day After Thanksgiving, or Christmas Day shall be paid one and one-half (1 ½) the nurse’s regular rate of pay for all hours worked on the holiday. For nurses working the night shift (11:00 p.m.-7:00 a.m.), holiday pay shall be given for the shift where the majority of the hours worked are on the designated calendar date for the holiday. Night nurses shall be paid for hours worked on change of daylight saving time.

PTO Donations. Sky Lakes Medical Center allows employees to donate PTO to other 31 employees experiencing a hardship event. Requests for gifting of PTO are 32 directed to Human Resources for processing and approval. The gifting of 1 PTO must be documented on forms provided by Human Resources and the 2 guidelines followed in HR Policy and Procedures # 419.1.
