Common use of Layoff/Displacement Notice Clause in Contracts

Layoff/Displacement Notice. (a) The Employer shall notify regular employees, who are to be permanently laid off or permanently displaced under article 15, the following notice: i) Less than five (5) years continuous service: one (1) month. ii) More than five (5) years continuous service: one(1) month, plus one (1) additional week for each year of continuous employment in excess of five (5) years, to a maximum total notice of eight (8) weeks. (b) When a regular employee is not given opportunity to work during such notice period, he/she shall be paid for those days upon which work was not made available.
