Common use of Lead Upgrade Clause in Contracts

Lead Upgrade. If the Company deems it necessary, it may upgrade an employee to act as lead. Employees designated as lead under this provision will not exceed one-hundred eighty (180) days. If necessary after this assignment, the lead will be offered to other qualified employees within the classification in the area. If there is no interest, the same employee may be assigned to act as lead. The employee upgraded shall be paid an hourly wage rate of $1.25 per hour above the regular base wage rate or $1.25 per hour above the base wage rate of the employee in the highest classification (this excludes any red-circled employee or an employee working outside their classification) working in the work group, whichever is higher. Employees will not be forced to take a lead position.
