Leave for Adoption or Xxxxxx Placement. Full time, benefit eligible, and part- time employees with accrued paid absence leave will be granted up to 6 weeks leave for adoption of a child. The period of time shall, at the direction of the adoptive parent, begin before or at the time of, the child’s placement in the adoptive parent’s home, for the purpose of arranging for placement or caring for the child after placement. Additional days may be requested, subject to the approval of the Director of Human Resources on a case by case basis. Approved paid absences for the purposes of adoption shall be deducted from the employee’s paid absence leave. Employees shall be granted up to ten (10) days of paid absence leave per school year for the placement of a xxxxxx child. Additional days may be requested, subject to the approval of the Director of Human Resources on a case by case basis. Approved paid absences for the purposes of xxxxxx placement shall be deducted from the employee’s paid absence leave.
