Vacation Selection. Employees who have not selected their vacation periods by November 15th shall not be entitled later to select vacation periods by seniority. Employees who do not select all of their vacation entitlements on the calendar shall be allowed to schedule vacation at a later date, provided that this selection does not affect the scheduled vacations of other employees.
Vacation Selection. Employees may select their vacation in full weeks and on a day-at-a-time basis during the vacation selection process. Vacations shall be selected in a work group as determined by the Company, based on seniority. The Company shall determine periods available for selection and the number of employees allowed off on vacation.
Vacation Selection. Beginning January 2 of each calendar year, employees will be scheduled a time, based on seniority, to select up to three (3) segments of available vacation leave during the time period of April 1 through March 31. A “segment” is one (1) or more contiguous days of vacation leave. No segment shall include more than ten (10) consecutive days of vacation leave in June, July, and/or August, provided that an employee may select contiguous segments of vacation leave. Each employee will be guaranteed one (1) scheduled workweek of vacation leave if requested as one of their segments. Off-shift times to select a vacation will not be considered as “time worked” for purposes of computing callback or overtime. If an employee is unable to be present during their scheduled time they may make their choice by telephone, email, or another individual with written documentation of designation, may select a vacation segment(s) for the employee. If the employee fails to select their vacation during their assigned time, the Employer may proceed with scheduling. The employee will be provided an opportunity to select their segment(s) at a later date when they are available. The Employer will publish the vacation schedule by March 1, after considering requests, as well as agency program needs. Employees will complete a leave request form no less than thirty (30) days prior to any approved vacation segment taken.
Vacation Selection. (a) The number of personnel permitted to be off duty for approved Departmental Leave is subject to 15.06.
(b) The Association and the Corporation agree that only full 24 hours shifts will be granted for vacation requests. A maximum of five (5) consecutive 24 hour shifts may be booked as one (1) vacation selection.
(c) Vacation for PC/APC working on the same platoon and Divisional Chiefs and their assistants will be selected within the provisions of this Article save and except that not more than one person (PC or APC, DC or assistant) shall be granted time off on vacation at any one time.
(d) Vacation periods may be booked only in full shifts, and not partial shifts.
(e) Day staff may book up to 2 weeks of their vacation allotment in days or half days.
(f) Seniority rights shall apply to only one vacation request until all members have had an opportunity to submit their requests. The same seniority rights shall then apply again for second and subsequent request in the same manner. A maximum of five (5) consecutive shifts shall be permitted per one vacation selection.
(g) All employees must submit vacation dates prior to the year in which the vacation is to be taken according to the following timetable:
(i) All vacation selection shall begin on October 15th and be concluded by November 15th.
(h) Vacations may only be cancelled by the Fire Chief, or Deputy Fire Chief. After all vacations have been submitted, the Divisional Chief may authorize one (1) vacation change to an available time period, if so requested by staff. Additional changes may only be authorized by the Fire Chief, or the Deputy Fire Chief.
(i) Once an original vacation selection is moved or changed, that specific vacation selection or parts of it cannot be moved or changed again.
(j) Vacation changes due to illness, injury, transfer, retirement, or termination may only be authorized by the Fire Chief, or Deputy Fire Chief, and such cancelled time will be made available to staff through the lottery process. Personnel undergoing a transfer to another shift shall have first (1st) choice for vacation on their new shift without competing in the lottery process.
(k) When transfers are required, affected personnel’s vacations will be frozen for a fifteen (15) day period. For employees transferred to another shift, their first annual vacation selection at the time of booking will be honoured by the Corporation. All subsequent picks will be for available time. Vacation Selection. (a) Subject To Essential Operational Requirements Selection of vacation periods under this Agreement shall be subject to essential operational requirements, which right the Employer must invoke prior to any vacation selection in accordance with this Clause 21.08.
Vacation Selection. Vacation selection in the ranks of Police Officer and Police Specialist in the Cincinnati Police Department shall continue to be made in established work groups. Selections shall be according to seniority as determined by date of appointment as a Police Recruit. If two or more employees were appointed on the same day, vacation selection shall be made according to the member's numerical grade on the overall entrance level eligibility list. Vacation selection shall be made by the last Monday in February of the vacation year. The vacation list shall be typed, including any necessary selection changes, approved and posted on the first Monday of March. If any selection is changed, it will be done in accordance with seniority as listed above. Once posted a member shall not be compelled to change a selected vacation. A bargaining unit member who returns to service as a Cincinnati Police Officer following resignation from the Cincinnati Police Department shall use his/her date of rehire or reinstatement for purposes of establishing his/her vacation seniority date, except as provided in section 19(c).

If two or more employees were promoted on the same day from the same overall promotional eligibility list, vacation seniority shall be determined by final overall numerical promotional examination rankings. Vacation selection shall be made by the last Monday in February of the vacation year. The vacation list shall be typed, including any necessary selection changes, approved and posted on the first Monday of March. If any selection is changed, it will be done in accordance with seniority as listed above. Once posted a member shall not be compelled to change a selected vacation.
