Leave for Jury Duty. When a permanent or term employee is summoned for jury duty or as a court witness the employee shall not suffer any loss of salary or wages while so serving, except in situations where testifying on the employee’s own behalf. Remuneration paid to the employee by the court must be turned over to the Employer. However, this will not include expenses paid by the court.
Leave for Jury Duty. Leave of Absence with pay shall be granted to an employee while serving on jury duty and while going to and from jury duty, provided that the jury duty takes place during a shift when that employee is normally scheduled to work. Any jury fee awarded to such employee for jury duty served during such leave shall be deposited with the Department. The employee shall complete the scheduled shift at the conclusion of the day's jury duty, except that if the employee must report for jury duty the next day, they shall not be required to complete the shift. Leave for Jury Duty. Any employee called to serve jury duty shall receive his regular pay in additional to the compensation received for ten (10) working days of jury service. For jury service exceeding ten (10) work days during one (1) jury term, the employee shall receive the difference between his regular pay and the compensation received for such jury service.
Leave for Jury Duty. Upon written request, a Graduate Assistant who has received a summons to appear in court for the purposes of jury selection or service will be granted paid leave from their scheduled duties provided that upon return to work, the Graduate Assistant provides the Graduate Assistantship Supervisor with written confirmation of the date(s) and time(s) on which the Graduate Assistant appeared and/or was served by an appropriate official of the court. The leave with pay will be reduced by any amounts received by the Graduate Assistant for their appearance/service.

If a teacher is summoned for (a) jury duty day(s), including the extended school year program, notice thereof will be promptly given to the Office of Human Resources and paid leave shall be granted for the period of jury duty required. The teacher shall reimburse the District any per diem paid to a juror by the court for jury duty service, except that the teacher shall retain any mileage and meal allowance paid by the court as well as a sum equal to parking fees paid during the term of jury duty.
Leave for Jury Duty. A bargaining unit member who is summoned as a member of a jury panel shall be granted leave with pay; any jury fees shall be retained by the bargaining unit member. The College shall not reimburse the bargaining unit member for meals, lodging, and travel expenses incurred while serving as a juror. A bargaining unit member subpoenaed as a witness, not involving litigation in which he or she is a principal, shall be granted leave with pay and any witness fee shall be retained by the bargaining unit member. The College shall not reimburse the bargaining unit member for meals, lodging and travel expenses incurred while serving as a witness. A bargaining unit member subpoenaed in line of duty to represent the College as a witness or defendant shall have his or her appearance in such cases considered a part of a normal work assignment. The bargaining unit member shall be paid per diem, if eligible, and travel expenses, and shall be required to turn over to the College any fees received from the court. In no case shall leave with pay be granted for court attendance when a bargaining unit member is engaged in personal litigation in which he or she is a principal, however, a bargaining unit member may be granted vacation, personal or emergency leave in such cases with the approval of the President; and provided further, that a bargaining unit member who is involved in litigation as a result of action relating to the carrying out of his or her official College duties and responsibilities may be granted leave with pay for court attendance upon approval of the President. A bargaining unit member who is required to go to court for jury duty or as a witness will complete and submit for approval a “Request for Leave” form (BA816) prior to the date of the court session(s). The bargaining unit member will write “jury/witness duty” in the “other” section of the form. The bargaining unit member will also be required to attach a copy of the summons or subpoena to the “Request for Leave” form. Any bargaining unit member subpoenaed in line of duty to represent the College as a witness or defendant will also process a “Request for Leave” form. Such time will be considered “Temporary Duty Elsewhere”.
Leave for Jury Duty. District personnel may be absent from duty to serve on a jury without loss of pay.
Leave for Jury Duty. 10.7.1 A teacher shall be granted leave to appear for jury duty in the manner prescribed by Education Code Section 44037.
10.7.2 Juror's fees earned by the teacher on teacher workdays shall be assigned to the District. Reimbursement received for mileage shall be kept by the teacher.
Leave for Jury Duty. A faculty employee called for jury duty in the manner provided for by law may request and shall be granted a jury duty leave of absence. Such a leave shall be with pay, provided the amount the faculty employee receives for jury fees, excluding mileage allowance, shall be deducted from his or her regular earnings. Verification of jury duty (summons or court statement) shall be attached to the leave report.
