(a)* ) An employee who becomes legally adopts a parent of one or more children through the placement of the child or children in the care of the employee for the purpose of adoption of the other than his spouse’s child or children is entitled to a leave of absence without pay of up to fifty-not exceeding (2) years’ duration.
