The Company shall be given a minimum of fifteen (15) days’ notice of the commencement of such training course. Election or Appointment to Union Office With reasonable notice a leave of absence without pay shall also be granted to an as are elected or appointed to positions in the employ of the Union; leave under this Article must be expressly approved for renewable terms of three (3) years by CANADA but such approval and renewal shall not be unreasonably withheld. The name of an employee shall be continued on the seniority list while is on such leave. The period of leave granted shall be counted as continuous service for the purpose of calculating severance pay, vacation leave and pay increments; Upon termination of his or her position with the Union, the employee shall be entitled to resume employment with the Company at a salary he or she was paid at the time of leaving, plus any increases granted in the interim. An employee granted leave under clause shall continue to receive his or her regular salary for the period of leave granted, subject to the Union reimbursing the Company for all associated costs. Leave with or without pay for purposes described in this Article shall be requested in writing to the Company as far in advance as possible of the date leave is to commence, but normally not less than fifteen (15) calendar days in advance.
