Leave for Public Office. The Employer shall grant, on written request, leave of absence without pay: (a) for employees to seek election in a municipal, provincial, or federal election for a maximum period of ninety (90) days, and a minimum period of sixty (60) days; (b) for employees elected to a public office for a maximum period of five (5) years; (c) at the conclusion of such leaves, the employee shall be allowed to return to his/her former position, or if such position no longer exists, to an equivalent position.
