Leave Without Pay for Health Reasons. An employee must use all of his/her sick 4 leave before taking unpaid leave for his/her own health reasons. If the injury is compensable under 5 the County’s workers compensation program, then the employee has the option to augment or not 6 augment time loss payments with the use of accrued sick leave.
