Notification While on Paid Vacation or Compensatory Time Off. If an employee is injured or is taken ill while on paid vacation or compensatory time off, they will notify their department on the first day of disability that they will be using paid sick leave. A doctor's statement or other acceptable proof of illness or disability, while on vacation or compensatory time off, must be presented for absences greater than three continuous days.

Notification While on Paid Vacation or Compensatory Time Off. If a comprehensive 17 leave eligible employee is injured or becomes ill while on paid vacation or compensatory time off, in 18 order to receive sick leave for that time, the employee must notify the manager/designee on the first 19 day of the injury or illness, either by telephone, email, text message, fax, or by letter postmarked the 20 first day of the injury or illness. However, if it is physically impossible to give the required notice on 21 the first day, notice must be sent as soon as possible and must be accompanied by an acceptable 22 showing of reasons for the delay. A doctor’s statement or other acceptable proof of the injury or 23 illness, while on vacation or compensatory time off must be presented regardless of the number of 24 days involved.

  • Compensatory Time Off a. An employee in the bargaining unit shall have the option to elect to take compensatory time off in lieu of cash compensation for overtime work.   • Overtime/Compensatory Time Overtime shall be paid for all hours worked in excess of the regularly scheduled workday. In no case will compensatory time be allowed, in lieu of overtime, once the employee has reached the compensatory time limit in 18.11.

  • Time Off The company recognises that sufficient time off to attend to personal matters and for recreation are important to the employee’s wellbeing, job satisfaction and overall productivity. Accordingly, time off may be taken with the consent of the Company, which shall not be unreasonably withheld. In considering the approval to have time off, the Parties will have regard to the current works programme and the urgency of the reason for time off. In the event that time off is to be taken, it will be the employee’s obligation to advise the Company in advance or as soon as practicable on the day of absence, recognising that unplanned absences can cause costly disruption to programmed works and are a major source of annoyance for the company, other employees and clients. The object of offering flexible working hours is that in return employees will take very seriously their obligation to turn up when they are expected. In view of the disruption caused by unplanned and or notified absenteeism, repeated failure to observe the protocol for time off would constitute misconduct.

  • Paid Vacation Except as otherwise provided in this Article, paid vacation shall be granted no longer than the fiscal year immediately following the fiscal year in which it is earned.
