Leave Without Pay for the Care and Nurturing of Pre-School Age Children. Subject to operational requirements, an employee shall be granted leave without pay for the care and nurturing of the employee's pre-school age children in accordance with the following conditions:
(a) an employee shall notify the Company in writing ten (10) weeks in advance of the commencement date of such leave;
(b) leave granted under this clause shall be for a minimum period of nine (9) consecutive weeks;
(c) the total leave granted under this clause shall not exceed five (5) years during an employee's total period of employment in NAV CANADA, and in the case of designated employees during an employee’s total period of service in the Public Service and with NAV CANADA;
(d) leave which is for a period of more than three (3) months granted under this clause, shall be deducted from the calculation of “continuous employment” for the purpose of calculating severance pay and vacation leave; and
(e) time spent on such leave shall not be counted for pay increment purposes.
Leave Without Pay for the Care and Nurturing of Pre-School Age Children. 35.15.1 An employee shall be granted leave without pay for the care and nurturing of the employee's pre-school age children (including children of common-law partner) in accordance with the following conditions:
35.15.1.1 an employee shall notify the Council in writing four (4) weeks in advance of the commencement date of such leave unless because of an urgent or unforeseeable circumstance such notice cannot be given;
35.15.1.2 leave granted under this clause shall be for a minimum period of six (6) weeks;
35.15.1.3 the total leave granted under this sub- clause shall not exceed (5) years during an employee's total period of employment in the Public Service;
35.15.1.4 leave granted under this clause for a period of more than three (3) months shall be deducted for the calculation of "continuous employment" for the purposes of calculating severance pay and from the calculation of “service” for the calculation of vacation leave;
35.15.1.5 time spent on such leave shall not be counted for pay increment purposes.
35.15.2 At the discretion of the Council, an employee who has proceeded on leave without pay under this clause, may change his return to work date.
Leave Without Pay for the Care and Nurturing of Pre-School Age Children. Subject to operational requirements, an employee shall be granted leave without pay for the personal care and nurturing of the employee's pre-school age children in accordance with the following conditions:
(a) an employee shall notify NAV CANADA in writing as far in advance as possible but not less than ten (10) weeks in advance of the commencement date of such leave, unless because of an urgent or unforeseeable circumstance such notice cannot be given;
(b) leave granted under this clause shall be for a minimum period of six
Leave Without Pay for the Care and Nurturing of Pre-School Age Children. An employee will be granted leave without pay, for a maximum of two (2) years, for the care and nurturing of the employee’s pre-school age children in accordance with the following conditions:
A) An employee will request the leave in writing sufficiently in advance to allow the Employer time to hire an acceptable replacement;
B) Leave granted under this clause will be for a minimum of one (1) month;
C) Leave granted under this clause for a period of more than three (3) months will be deducted from the calculation of “continuous employment” for the purpose of calculating severance pay “length of service” and vacation leave;
D) Time spent on such leave will not be counted for pay increment purposes.
Leave Without Pay for the Care and Nurturing of Pre-School Age Children. Subject to operational requirements, an employee shall be granted leave without pay for the personal care and nurturing of the employee's pre-school age children in accordance with the following conditions.
(a) An employee shall notify NAV CANADA in writing as far in advance as possible but not less than six (6) weeks in advance of the commencement date of such leave, unless:
(i) the leave is for a period of more than six (6) months, in which case the employee shall provide twelve (12) weeks’ notification; or
(ii) because of an urgent or unforeseeable circumstance such notice cannot be given.
(b) Leave granted under this clause shall be for a minimum period of six (6) consecutive weeks;
(c) The total leave granted under this clause shall not exceed five (5) years during an employee's total period of employment in NAV CANADA, and in the case of designated employees during an employee’s total period of service in the Public service and with NAV CANADA;
(d) Leave granted under this clause for a period of more than three (3) months shall be deducted from the calculation of entitlement for the purposes of severance pay and vacation leave;
(e) Time spent on such leave shall not be counted for pay increment purposes.

Leave Without Pay for the Care and Nurturing of Pre-School Age Children. An employee shall be granted leave without pay for the care and nurturing of the employee’s pre-school age children (including the children of the employee’s spouse) in accordance with the following conditions:
(a) an employee shall notify NAV CANADA in writing ten (10) weeks in advance of the commencement date of such leave, unless because of an urgent or unforeseeable circumstance such notice cannot be given;
(b) leave granted under this clause shall be for a minimum period of nine (9) weeks;
(c) the total leave granted under this clause shall not exceed five (5) years during an employee’s total period of employment in NAV CANADA / the Public Service;
(d) leave granted under this clause for a period of more than twelve
Leave Without Pay for the Care and Nurturing of Pre-School Age Children a) At the request of an employee, leave without pay in one (1) or more periods to a total maximum of five (5) years during an employee's total period of employment at the National Film Board shall be provided for the care and nurturing of pre-school age children. This leave cannot be used to transform a full time job into a part time job without the consent of the employer.
b) Leave without pay which is for a period of more than three (3) months, granted under this clause, shall be deducted from the calculation of "continuous service" for the purpose of calculating severance pay and vacation leave for the employee involved.
Leave Without Pay for the Care and Nurturing of Pre-School Age Children. An employee shall be granted leave without pay for the personal care and nurturing of the employee's pre-school age children in accordance with the following conditions:
a) an employee shall notify the Employer in writing as far in advance as possible but not less than four (4) weeks in advance of the commencement date of such leave, unless because of an urgent or unforeseeable circumstance such notice cannot be given.
b) leave shall be granted under this clause once per child for a minimum period of six (6) weeks and for a maximum period of two (2) years, with a lifetime maximum of five (5) years.
c) where the employee returns from a leave of up to one (1) year, the Employer will return the employee to the same position at the same classification and level which the employee held prior to the leave provided the position exists. In any event, the employee shall be reinstated to a comparable position with the same wages and benefits;
d) where the employee returns from a leave of more than one (1) year and the employee's previous position has not been filled on a permanent basis or eliminated, the Employer will return the employee to the position. Where the position has been filled permanently or no longer exists, the Employer will reassign the employee to a vacant position, when available, for which the employee is qualified. An employee who accepts a lower position shall be provided the opportunity to return to their previous position when a permanent vacancy occurs. An employee who declines a reassignment shall be deemed to have abandoned their position. Where no reassignment is made after two (2) years from the expiry date of the employee's leave, the employment of the employee shall be terminated and the employee shall be paid severance pay.
e) no service in the calculation of vacation leave shall be accrued during such leave if the period of leave is greater than one (1) year.
f) time spent on such leave shall not be counted for pay increment or severance purposes.
