Common use of Leave Without Pay to Accompany Spouse Clause in Contracts

Leave Without Pay to Accompany Spouse. (including common-law spouse) (a) At the request of an employee, leave without pay for a period up to one (1) year shall be granted to an employee whose spouse (including common-law spouse) is permanently relocated and up to five (5) years to an employee whose spouse (including common-law spouse) is temporarily relocated. (b) Leave without pay granted under paragraph (a) shall be deducted from the calculation of "continuous employment" for the purpose of calculating severance pay and vacation leave for the employee involved. (c) Leave without pay granted under paragraph (a) shall not count for pay increment purposes.
