SPECIAL LEAVE WITH OR WITHOUT PAY. 6.9.1 Upon application, a teacher may be granted special leave with or without pay on whatever conditions teachers and the employer may agree at the time the leave is granted.
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH OR WITHOUT PAY. 17.01 An employee who is elected to a full-time position with the Union shall be granted leave of absence without pay for a period consistent with the term of office.
17.02 For the purpose of this clause, the definition of immediate family will include the relatives of a common law spouse in the same manner as would be applied to the relatives of a spouse.
a) When a member of an employee's immediate family dies, the employee shall be entitled to bereavement leave with pay for a period of five (5) days for purposes relating to the bereavement and may, in addition, be granted up to three (3) days leave with pay for the purposes of travel related to the death.
b) In special circumstances and at the request of the employee, bereavement leave with pay may be extended beyond the day following the day of the funeral or interment.
c) An employee is entitled to three (3) days bereavement leave with pay for the purpose related to the death of his/her niece, nephew, son-in-law or daughter-in-law.
d) An employee is entitled to one (1) day bereavement leave with pay for the purpose related to the death of his/her brother-in-law ,sister-in-law, uncle or aunt. At the discretion of the employer, this leave may be extended up to three (3) days where it can clearly be shown that the employee is required to perform special or unusual activities to assist other aggrieved relations of his/her immediate family.
e) If, during a period of compensatory or vacation leave, an employee is bereaved in circumstances under which he/she would have been eligible for bereavement leave with pay under paragraph (a), (b), (c) or (d) of this clause, he/she shall be granted bereavement leave with pay and his/her compensatory or vacation leave credits shall be restored to the extent of any concurrent bereavement leave with pay granted.
f) In special circumstances and at the request of an employee, bereavement leave with pay may be granted in addition to that provided for in clause 17.02.
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH OR WITHOUT PAY. 17.01 An employee who is granted leave up to one (1) year under this collective agreement shall return to his position upon the termination of his leave. The employee shall give the Employer at least thirty (30) days' advance notice of the date of his return to work.
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH OR WITHOUT PAY. An employee may be granted special leave either on full pay, on part-payment of salary or without pay. Each application will be considered on a case-by-case basis taking into account the operational requirements of the Ministry, the reason for the leave and the employee's length of service. Leave without pay interrupts but does not break service.
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH OR WITHOUT PAY. 5.8.1 An Employee may be granted special leave with or without pay. Placement on return from special leave without pay of more than 1 month is conditional on a suitable vacancy being available at the School, and grading cannot be guaranteed. An Employee who cannot be placed in employment on return will be given 3 months' notice in writing that employment is to be terminated.
5.8.2 Examples of the type of leave that could be taken as special leave with or without pay at the Employer's discretion: - Leave without pay to work for the PSA. - Leave without pay to accompany a partner on an overseas posting. - Study Leave - where the course of study is of value to the Employer. - Outward Bound - paid leave and/or payment of fees. - Conferences and Conventions - paid leave may be granted to attend conferences and conventions of value to the Employer. Note (i): The Employer will take into account the needs of the School and the Employee in dealing with applications for study leave. In addition to leave for study, the Employer may grant leave for examinations, reimburse course fees wholly or in part and assist with travel costs.
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH OR WITHOUT PAY. Special leave with or without pay may be granted by the Trust. In dealing with the application the Trust shall have regard to the guidelines approved by the Commissioner for Public Employment.
SPECIAL LEAVE WITH OR WITHOUT PAY a) Up to a total of 50 hours leave with pay will be granted in the categories below (17.09 b), 17.09 c) and 17.09 d) in a fiscal year.
b) Leave With Pay for Family Related Responsibilities
i) to provide for temporary care of a sick member of the employee’s family;
ii) for appointments of a professional nature (doctor, dentist, therapist, lawyer, teacher, etc.).
