LEAVES OF ABSENCE - FULL-TIME FACULTY. A. GENERAL LONG TERM LEAVES 1. A full-time faculty member may be granted a leave of absence without pay for up to two (2) years if the particular educational program for which the faculty member is responsible will not be adversely affected by his/her absence. 2. Requests for such leaves shall be submitted to the faculty member’s immediate supervisor in writing and must include a detailed explanation of the reason for the requested absence. Requests shall be submitted in sufficient time to allow reasonable time for review. A response to such a request will be given in time to allow the faculty member adequate notice of its disposition prior to the period for which the leave is being requested. B. SHORT TERM LEAVES Leaves of absence without pay for less than two (2) weeks will require the approval of the Xxxx/Director. Leaves of absence without pay for more than two (2) weeks, up to one (1) academic term, will require the approval of the College President. All other requests or leaves of absence without pay will require the approval of the College Board.
