Common use of Length of Appointment Clause in Contracts

Length of Appointment. Appointments may be for any period of time up to one (1) calendar year. The University shall appoint the majority of the .5 FTE employees in Graduate Assistant positions (9183, 9184, 9185, 9550) to an appointment of at least one (1) academic year, consistent with the faculty calendar (19.5 pay periods). Graduate assistants (9181, 9182) who are supported on grants and contracts will only be appointed for one (1) academic year dependent upon the availability and duration of the grant or contract funding.
