Common use of Level I - Informal Resolution Clause in Contracts

Level I - Informal Resolution. Any unit member who has a grievance shall present the grievance orally to the immediate supervisor within twenty (20) days after the grievant knew, or reasonably should have known, of the circumstances which forms the basis for the grievance. Failure to do so will render the grievance null and void. The supervisor shall hold discussions and attempt to resolve the matter within ten (10) days after the presentation of the grievance. It is the intent of this informal meeting that at least one personal conference be held between the aggrieved unit member and the immediate supervisor. 9.3.1.1 Grievances affecting multiple unit members and/or different supervisors may be submitted to the Human Resources Officer at level I with the mutual consent of CSEA and the District.
