Common use of Local      Committee Clause in Contracts

Local      Committee. The Hospital agrees to a Negotiating Commit- tee comprising of 5 members to be elected, or appoin- xxx from amongst employees in the bargaining unit, who have completed their probationary period. Where the Hospital participates in central bargaining the purpose of the Negotiating Committee shall be to negotiate local issues as defined. Where the Hospital does not participate in central bargaining, the purpose of the Negotiating Committee shall be to negotiate a renewal of this Collective Agreement. The Hospital agrees that the members of the Negotia- ting Committee shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending such negotiating meetings with the Hospital up to, but not including, arbitration. Nothing in this provision is intended to preclude the Union Negotiating Committee from having the assistance of any representatives of the Union when negotiating with the Hospital. The number of employees on the Negotiating Committee shall be determined locally. and CIomm_it-te-e -Structure
