Long Term Leave Without Pay. (a) Employees who are registered in an academic degree program and who are approved for a leave of absence from employment for a period not to exceed one (1) year, will not jeopardize their consideration for reappointment under Article 13, assuming the employees are eligible for reappointment and confirm their availability for reappointment within eight (8) weeks of the commencement of the academic term when they will return. (b) All other employees who are approved for leave of absence will not jeopardize their consideration for reappointment under Article l3, assuming the employees are eligible for reappointment and confirm their availability for reappointment within eight (8) weeks of the commencement of the term when they will return.
