Mandatory Vacation Leave. A. Every employee with more than five (5) years of employment with the Employer shall take a minimum of one hundred sixty (160) hours in accordance with Section 12.10, except as noted below. 1. Every employee with two (2) years of continuous employment with the Employer shall take a minimum of forty (40) hours of vacation leave. 2. Every employee with three (3) years of continuous employment with the Employer shall take a minimum of eighty (80) hours of vacation leave. 3. Every employee with four (4) years of continuous employment with the Employer shall take a minimum of one hundred twenty (120) hours of vacation leave. B. The Vacation Scheduling Committee shall assign vacation leave to any employee who fails to submit a vacation bid request and is unreachable by phone. C. The Commodore with the most seniority may choose their vacation without submitting a bid. D. Vacation bids shall be done by phone by the Vacation Scheduling Committee beginning no later than the first Monday in October, with employees being called in seniority order, until all employees have been contacted. All vacation bidding shall be concluded no later than October 15th of each year. E. In order to complete the phone calling in a timely manner, and reduce the time the employees must be available by the phone, all employees must be available for a phone call. F. Once an employee has been called they will have a maximum of fifteen (15) minutes to declare their vacation selection. Extra time will not be given to an employee except in the case of an employee going to or from work or being at work and temporarily unavailable by phone.
