Common use of Membership Cancellation Clause in Contracts

Membership Cancellation. A. A member may withdraw authorization for dues deduction by the City by directing his request in writing to the City Treasurer. 1. Resignation or discharge of the employee; 2. Transfer of the employee from the bargaining unit; 3. Revocation of the dues deduction authorization. B. No other employee organization's dues shall be deducted from the pay of any bargaining unit member during the life of this Agreement. C. The Labor Council hereby agrees that they will indemnify and hold the Employer harmless from any claims, actions, or proceedings by an employee or the Labor Council arising from deductions made by the Employer pursuant to this Article, except the non-payment of funds deducted from the employee's pay.
