Common use of Meter Tests Clause in Contracts

Meter Tests. The Company, for the mutual protection of the customer and the Company, will make periodic tests of the meter, including automatic meter reading equipment, used in measuring gas furnished to the customer, and will test a meter upon the written request of a customer. The meter will be tested and, if found inaccurate, restored to an accurate condition or a new meter will be substituted. Any meter tested and found to be registering not more than three percent (3%) fast or slow will be considered to be correct and accurate. If a test of any meter is made at the request of a customer, with the result that such meter is found to be correct and accurate as defined above, the Company may charge the customer the expense of such test. However, for the first such meter test in any twelve month period, the Company will not charge the customer.
