MICHIGAN EMPLOYMENT RELATIONS COMMISSION. “MERC”) Mediation If the grievance remains unsettled following implementation of Step 2, it may be presented in writing to MERC for mediation, with a copy to the Superintendent, within seven (7) working days after the Step 2 response is received. If satisfactory resolution is achieved through mediation, the resolution shall be final and binding upon the parties. If no satisfactory resolution can be reached, each side will terminate mediation through written notification to the other party.
