Common use of Movement on New Column Clause in Contracts

Movement on New Column. Employees on the Salary Schedule who advance from one column to another shall be limited to one step increase and one horizontal movement per year. For an employee to advance from one vertical column to another, he shall file suitable evidence of additional education and/or in-service points credit as defined in Section A of this Article with the Superintendent or his designee no later than 15 days after the beginning of each semester, and pay adjustments shall be retroactive to the beginning of the same semester. Any teacher planning to move horizontally on the salary schedule must notify the Superintendent’s Office of his/her intent not later than May 1 of each contract year. (2014)
