Common use of Moving to Lower Pay Grade Level Clause in Contracts

Moving to Lower Pay Grade Level. When a member applies for and is selected for a position in a lower pay grade level, or bumps into a lower pay grade level, he/she shall be placed on the same step in the lower level that he/she is on in his/her current level or the step that is at most ten percent (10%) lower than his/her current base pay, whichever is greater.

Moving to Lower Pay Grade Level. When a member applies for and is selected for a position in a lower pay grade level, or bumps into a lower pay grade level, he/she the member shall be placed in that lower pay grade level at the same percentage place the member was at on the same step in member’s former pay grade level (i.e., the lower level that he/she is percentage point of the band of minimum compared to maximum) on in his/her current level or the step that is at most ten percent (10%) lower than his/her current base pay, whichever is greaternew pay grade level.
