MULTIPLE LAYOFFS. 33.01 Where a reorganization, closure or transfer, or the divestment, relocation or contracting-out of an operation in whole or in part will result in fifty (50) or more surplus employees in a ministry, (a) Affected employees shall receive six (6) months notice of layoff or pay in lieu thereof as provided in Article 29 (Surplus Entitlements), and (b) The President of the Association shall be notified of the reorganization, closure, transfer, or the divestment, relocation or contracting-out prior to notification to affected employees, and (c) The Association and the Employer shall consult on issues related to layoff and recall.

MULTIPLE LAYOFFS. If there are multiple layoffs within a unit, a pool of the least senior nurses on that unit will be created equal to the number of nurses on the unit who are designated for layoff. In order of seniority, nurses designated for layoff with more seniority may choose to displace any position within that unit’s pool of least senior nurses. A pool of the least senior nurses house-wide will also be created equal to the number of nurses house-wide who are designated for layoff. In order of seniority, nurses designated for layoff with more seniority may choose to displace any position in the house-wide pool of least senior nurses, provided the nurse is or would (with retraining opportunities pursuant to Section 5.5) become qualified as determined by the Hospital, based upon established criteria. Any nurse displaced from this pool shall be subject to immediate layoff (with reinstatement rights) without further options.
MULTIPLE LAYOFFS. In the event of multiple layoffs, those complement workers whose positions are being declared redundant shall be entitled to bump into the most junior complement positions within the classification, by preference, in order of seniority until all occupy a complement position. Of the junior complement workers being “bumped”, the most senior is entitled to his/her preference of any existing contracts, and so on until all junior complement workers occupy a contract position, if available.

  • Layoffs Section 1. All employees will be laid off in line of least seniority and hired in reverse order. No employee will be hired by the City as long as there are employees laid off who have seniority. If employees are to be laid off, a thirty (30) calendar day written notice shall be given to the affected employee and the Union prior to the date that the services of that employee shall no longer be required. Section 2. Employees who are subject to layoff within their classification and who are qualified to perform duties of the next lower classification in declining sequence, may, in order at which they are laid off, occupy vacant positions of such lower classifications, or may displace employees who hold positions of such lower classifications. Section 3. An employee who voluntarily requests demotion or another position in order to remain in the classified service following a reduction in force shall be placed at a rate of the new classification pay range which ensures a five percent (5%) reduction in salary, unless a larger reduction is necessary for the officer to be placed in the highest step in the lower classification. Section 4. Where, by virtue of a reduction of the workforce, an employee takes a position in a lower classification in accordance with Section 2 and 3 hereof, and a reduction in force becomes necessary in such lower classification, such employee shall be credited with seniority earned in his classification. Section 5. Any employee who is laid off due to a reduction in work force and thereafter, within a period of four (4) years, reinstated to City service, shall, to the extent possible for purposes of all rights and benefits, be deemed to have been on leave without pay. Section 6. When the work force is increased after a layoff, employees will be recalled in reverse order of layoff. Notice of recall shall be sent to the employee at the last known address by registered or certified mail. If an employee fails to report for work within thirty (30) calendar days of the date of mailing of the recall notice, he shall be considered to have voluntarily terminated with the City. Section 7. When the work force is increased after a layoff, those persons who have voluntarily taken a lower classification as provided in Section 2 and 3 herein, shall have the option of occupying positions which open up in their former classification with no loss of seniority in that classification. Channelization can be accomplished through the use of a multiplexer or a digital cross-connect system at the discretion of BellSouth. Once UC has been installed, NewPhone may request channel activation on a channelized facility and BellSouth shall connect the requested facilities via COCIs. The COCI must be compatible with the lower capacity facility and ordered with the lower capacity facility.   • Shift Rotation Routine shift rotation is not an approach to staffing endorsed by the Employer.
