MUTUAL EXEMPTION. 5.1.1 The participating ASEAN Member Countries recognise that any arrangement, which would confer exemption from further assessment by the NRA of the Host Country could be concluded only with the involvement and consent of that NRA and/or the relevant government agencies.
5.1.2 The participating ASEAN Member Countries further recognise that registering or licensing authorities for the practice of nursing have statutory responsibilities for protecting the health, safety, environment, and welfare of the community within their jurisdiction.
MUTUAL EXEMPTION. 8.1. The participating ASEAN Member States recognise that any arrangement, which would confer exemption from further assessment by the National Accountancy Body (NAB) and/or Professional Regulatory Authority (PRA), where applicable, that control the right to practise in each Member State, could be concluded only with the involvement and consent of the National Accountancy Body (NAB) and/or Professional Regulatory Authority (PRA) and the relevant government agencies;

5.2 The participating ASEAN Member Countries note that licensing or registering authorities have statutory responsibility for protecting the health, safety, environment and welfare of the community within their jurisdictions, and may require Architects who do not meet the requirements stipulated under Article 3 to submit themselves to some form of supplemental assessment as determined by the ASEAN Architect Council (AAC);
5.3 The participating ASEAN Member Countries consider that the objectives of such supplemental assessment should be to provide the relevant authorities with a sufficient degree of confidence that the Architects concerned:
5.3.1 understand the general principles behind applicable codes of practice and laws;
5.3.2 have demonstrated a capacity to apply such principles safely and efficiently; and
5.3.3 are familiar with other special requirements operating within the Host Country.

8.3 The participating ASEAN Member States consider that the objectives of such assessment should be to provide the relevant authorities with a sufficient degree of confidence that the Professional Accountants concerned:
8.3.1 understand the general principles behind applicable codes of practice and laws;
8.3.2 have demonstrated a capacity to apply such principles safely and efficiently; and
8.3.3 are familiar with other special requirements operating within the Host Country.

The participating ASEAN Member Countries note that licensing or registering authorities have statutory responsibility for protecting the health, safety, environment, and welfare of the community within their jurisdictions, and may require Professional Engineers seeking the right to independent practice to submit themselves to some form of supplemental assessment;
5.3. The participating ASEAN Member Countries consider that the objectives of such assessment should be to provide the relevant authorities with a sufficient degree of confidence that the Professional Engineers concerned:
5.3.1. understand the general principles behind applicable codes of practice and laws;
5.3.2. have demonstrated a capacity to apply such principles safely and efficiently; and
5.3.3. are familiar with other special requirements operating within the Host Country.
MUTUAL EXEMPTION. The Parties are entitled to agree upon the use of other processes to settle disputes or claims.

5.2 Both Parties consider that the objectives of such supplemental assessment should be to provide the relevant authorities with a sufficient degree of confidence that the Interior Designers concerned:
5.2.1 Understand the general principles behind applicable codes of practice and laws;
5.2.2 Have demonstrated a capacity to apply such principles safely and efficiently; and
5.2.3 Are familiar with other special requirements operating within the Host Country.
