Common use of Mutual Shift Exchange Clause in Contracts

Mutual Shift Exchange. (a) Mutual shift change (MSE) is defined as trading of an agreed upon shift between two (2) nurses after the schedule is posted. (b) Nurses may be allowed to trade days off on their own, providing that such request is submitted in writing to the Hospital forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the change and mutually signed by the nurses involved in the change and approved by the manager. Such mutual exchange of a tour of duty shall not result in overtime compensation to either of the nurses. Such approval will not be unreasonably withheld. A nurse will be advised in writing within twenty-four (24) hours of the reason for such denial.
