Common use of Named Holidays (Article 27) Clause in Contracts

Named Holidays (Article 27). (a) The provisions of Article 27 as it relates to Regular Full-time Employees applies to Temporary Employees who are employed in a temporary full- time capacity. (b) The provisions of Article 27 as it relates to Regular Part-time Employees applies to Temporary Employees who are employed in a temporary part- time capacity. (c) Casual Employees shall be paid, in addition to their Basic Rate of Pay, five percent (5%) of their Basic Rate of Pay in lieu of Named Holidays (d) Casual Employees required to work on a Named Holiday shall be paid at one and one-half times (1 1/2X) their Basic Rate of Pay for all hours worked on the Named Holiday. (e) Casual Employees required to work on Christmas Day shall be paid at two times (2X) the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay for work performed up to seven point seven five (7.75) or eight point zero (8.0) hours as applicable. (f) Casual Employees required to work on August Civic Day shall be paid at two times (2X) the Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay for work performed up to seven point seven five (7.75) or eight point zero (8.0) hours as applicable. (g) Casual Employees required to work overtime on a Named Holiday (except August Civic Holiday and Christmas Day) shall be paid at two and one-half times (2 1/2X) their Basic Rate of Pay for all overtime hours worked on the Named Holiday. (h) Casual Employees required to work overtime on August Civic Holiday and/or Christmas Day shall be paid at three times (3X) their Basic Rate of Pay for all overtime hours worked.
