- Negative Evaluation of Performance. If an employee’s performance, after appropriate written direction regarding necessary improvements, remains at a level that indicates future employment of a similar nature should not be offered, the immediate supervisor shall provide the employee with a written evaluation of the performance. The employee may appeal such an evaluation to the individual to whom the employee’s supervisor reports. If there is a question as to where the appeal should be directed, Human Resources should be consulted for clarification. Insofar as it may prevent future employment at the University in the same or a similar position, if the written evaluation is not overturned by the appeal, rights under the grievance/arbitration process may be exercised.
