Recognition of Union Xxxxxxx and Grievance Committee. In order to provide an orderly and speedy procedure for the settling of grievances, the University acknowledges the rights and duties of the Union Grievance Committee and the Union Stewards. The Xxxxxxx or Union representative shall assist any employee(s) in preparing and presenting a grievance in accordance with the grievance procedure.

All members of the Grievance Committee shall be appointed by the Union. When presenting grievances at Stage 1 and 2, the Union Grievance Committee shall consist of up to two (2) members of the Grievance Committee and the griever, if the griever chooses to attend. These employees attend grievance meetings without loss of pay. The CUPE representative may also attend.

To this end, the parties shall meet to exchange information and may hold discussions in an attempt to solve any problem related to working conditions.
