Non-Life Threatening Emergency. The term used to denote a condition or situation in which an individual has not experienced a sudden or unexpected change in their medical condition and does not meet the EMD protocol for a life threatening or non-life threatening emergency, and where the potential for such need is not perceived by Emergency Medical Personnel at the scene of an emergency, dispatch personnel at an Authorized EMS Dispatch Center, or an Authorized ALS Ambulance Provider. An EMS area or sub area defined by the emergency medical services plan for which the Agency does not restrict operations to one provider of Emergency Ground Ambulance Services and Advanced Life Support Ground Ambulance Services. The term used to denote a condition or situation in which an individual has a need for medical attention requiring a Code Two response based upon the patient’s reported medical condition, or where the potential for such need is not perceived by Emergency Medical Personnel at the scene of an emergency, dispatch personnel at an Authorized EMS Dispatch Center, or an Authorized ALS Ambulance Provider. Methods of evaluation that are composed of structure, process, and outcome evaluations which focus on improvement efforts to identify root causes of problems, intervene to reduce or eliminate these causes, and take steps to correct the process and recognize excellence in performance and delivery of care.

Non-Life Threatening Emergency. Response (Priority 2). Contractor’s goal is to place an Advanced Life Support ambulance at the scene of each non-life-threatening emergency request [e.g., generally MPDS Xxxxxxx and Xxxxx] as presumptively determined in accordance with the MPDS within 7 minutes and 59 seconds on not less than 90% of all non-life-threatening emergency response requests. This shall apply to all non-life-threatening emergency response requests in all designated Urban response areas of the County when the Ambulance is dispatched from its assigned post and the location of the emergency is within the corresponding mileage radius of the post. This will be a lights and siren response. Response Time Performance for designated Rural response areas within the County when the Ambulance is dispatched from its assigned post and the location of the emergency is within the corresponding mileage radius of the post goal is to place an Advanced Life Support ambulance at the scene within 17 minutes and 59 seconds on not less than 90% of all non-life-threatening emergency response requests. Response Time Performance for designated Wilderness response areas within the County when the Ambulance is dispatched from its assigned post and the location of the emergency is within the corresponding mileage radius of the post goal is to place an Advanced Life Support ambulance at the scene within 40 minutes and 59 seconds on not less than 90% of all non-life- threatening emergency response requests. Any call that does not receive EMD prior to arrival will be dispatched and classified as a Priority 2 call. Calls may be downgraded as articulated in this Agreement.

  • Special Parental Allowance for Totally Disabled Employees (a) An employee who: (i) fails to satisfy the eligibility requirement specified in subparagraph 17.05(a)(ii) solely because a concurrent entitlement to benefits under the Disability Insurance (DI) Plan, the Long-term Disability (LTD) Insurance portion of the Public Service Management Insurance Plan (PSMIP) or via the Government Employees Compensation Act prevents the employee from receiving Employment Insurance or Québec Parental Insurance Plan benefits, and (ii) has satisfied all of the other eligibility criteria specified in paragraph 17.05(a), other than those specified in sections (A) and (B) of subparagraph 17.05(a)(iii), shall be paid, in respect of each week of benefits under the parental allowance not received for the reason described in subparagraph (i), the difference between ninety-three per cent (93%) of the employee's rate of pay and the gross amount of his or her weekly disability benefit under the DI Plan, the LTD Plan or via the Government Employees Compensation Act. (b) An employee shall be paid an allowance under this clause and under clause 17.05 for a combined period of no more than the number of weeks during which the employee would have been eligible for parental, paternity or adoption benefits under the Employment Insurance or Québec Parental Insurance Plan, had the employee not been disqualified from Employment Insurance or Québec Parental Insurance Plan benefits for the reasons described in subparagraph (a)(i).
