NON-STANDARD. If the employee is unable to produce enough units to earn the equal of the base rate because of poor material or improperly operating equipment, then the operation is on non-standard. The employee encountering such difficulty will immediately contact his supervisor. If, in the judgement of the supervisor, the incentive standard does not apply, the supervisor will authorize the employee to work on a non-standard basis. The employee will then be paid at the base rate for the pieces produced during this time until the trouble is corrected.
