Notice of Intended Absence. 159 Employees who are required to be absent from work for any reason will provide their immediate supervisor or designated representative with reasonable notice of such intended absences, and the reasons therefore. 160 Employees may request personal time off without pay if they have exhausted their Paid Time Off account. Regular Part-Time Employees 166 A regular part-time employee is one who is regularly scheduled to work forty (40) hours or more, but less than eighty (80) hours in a bi-weekly pay period. 167 In the event it becomes necessary, for efficiency of operations, for the Employer to increase hours of part-time employee(s), the least senior employee(s), who is qualified to perform the additional work, will be assigned the additional hours should more senior qualified employees decline the additional hours. 168 Benefit levels will be based on the scheduled hours of the position to which the employee bid on or was hired into and will not fluctuate in level if the employee works additional or fewer hours on an intermittent basis. 169 C. Short-Hour Employees 170 A short-hour employee is one who is regularly scheduled to work a predetermined schedule of less than forty (40) hours in a bi-weekly pay period.
