Common use of Notice of Sickness Clause in Contracts

Notice of Sickness. The County Fire supervisor/manager or designee should be notified at least two (2) hours prior to the start of the employee’s scheduled tour of duty of a sickness on the first day of absence. It is the responsibility of the employee to keep the Appointing Authority or designee informed as to continued absence beyond the first day for reasons due to sickness or occupational disability. Failure to make such notification shall result in denial of sick leave with pay. If the employee receives a doctor’s off work order and provides notice of same to the Appointing Authority or designee, the employee is not required to contact the department daily. If the employee does not have an off work order or has not notified the Appointing Authority that one has been issued, the employee shall be required to contact the department daily in accordance with the timeframe above.
