Extended Family. Extended family is defined as grandchild, grandparent, sibling, parent/sibling-in-law, aunt, uncle, xxxxx, nephew, xxxxxx child, xxxx of the court, or any step relations as defined herein.

Extended Family. In the event of a death of a regular full-time employee’s extended family member, the employee may take a leave of absence without loss of pay or leave credits for up to three scheduled workdays between date of the death and the day after the burial. For purposes of bereavement leave, “extended family member” will mean the following:
Extended Family. Employees may be granted a leave of absence for up to four (4) days in the event of a death in the extended family. The extended family shall include the employee’s aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, grandparents, grandchildren, mother/father-in-law, son/daughter-in-law, sister/brother-in-law, parents of significant other, spouse's immediate family, anyone who has the position of parent or child, or any person who has been a member of the employee's household immediately prior to the critical illness or death.
Extended Family. In the event of a death of a employee’s grandparents, grandparents in- law, grandchild, step-grandchildren, step-grandparents, the employee shall be granted three (3) consecutive days Bereavement Leave commencing on the calendar day following the day of the death of the family member. The employee shall not have a loss of regular pay for shifts not worked during the Bereavement Leave.
Extended Family. Refers to the Employee’s aunt, uncle, brother or sister of the Employee’s Spouse, and other persons whom the Employee considers to be family as approved at the discretion of the Supervisor/Manager/Chair.
Extended Family. Extended family is any family member beyond the immediate family member definition. (See ROP 2006) Sick leave shall be interpreted to include the following:
Extended Family. An Employee will be allowed a leave of one (1) shift for Employees assigned to a 53-hour average workweek, or two (2) consecutive shifts for Employees assigned to a 40-hour average workweek with no loss of regularly scheduled pay. Leave may be used to attend the funeral or memorial service or used the shift immediately prior to or after the service. Extended family includes: grandchild, grandparent, great-grand parent, uncle, aunt, nephew, xxxxx, spouse’s or partner’s extended family, or any other person living as family under the same roof as the Employee.

Extended Family. When death occurs in the extended family of an employee, the employee will be granted necessary time off for the purpose of bereavement. A regular classified employee shall receive a maximum of three (3) days leave per occurrence with pay when said leave occurs within the regular work schedule of the employee.
Extended Family. Additionally, up to 24 hours, leave may be granted to an employee who provides 29 proof of attendance at the funeral of: father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, 30 daughter-in-law, son-in-law, grandparents, and the employee’s aunt/uncle or first cousin. The 31 initial day of this latter leave will be treated as paid funeral leave with any second day taken being 32 charged against the employee’s sick leave.
