Common use of Notice of Suspension or Discharge Clause in Contracts

Notice of Suspension or Discharge. Prior to issuing a suspension of five (5) days or more or discharging an employee, the Company will give at least 48 hours notice to the Union and the affected employee. During this notice period an employee who has a suspension pending will remain on the clock unless the Company determines the employee must leave immediately. During this 48 hour notice period, a meeting shall be held with affected employee (if available), the Manager, Personnel and/or Manager, Labor Relations or their designee and the Union Business Representative or his designee, the Chairman of the Union Grievance Committee and/or the appropriate Committee person.
