Acquisition of Seniority. An employee shall not acquire seniority until such time as he or she has successfully completed the probationary period provided for in the present Collective Agreement.
Acquisition of Seniority. Probationary full- or part-time or term full- or part-time or auxiliary Employees shall not acquire seniority during such appointments. However, where an Employee is granted regular status, seniority shall be granted for such period of continuous employment with the College in accordance with clauses 25.9 and 25.10.

However, those employees hired prior to November 1 and retained after December 31 or recalled within sixty (60) days will retain credit for the number of days worked prior to November 1. These days retained will count towards the thirty (30) days worked in a ninety (90) consecutive day period commencing with the first day worked after December 31. November and December shall not be used in computing the ninety (90) consecutive day period. These employees shall acquire seniority as of the date of their original employment. Seasonal employees hired from outside sources prior to November 1 and retained after December 31, will retain credit. Acquisition of Seniority. The seniority of a regular employee who shall have completed six (6) months full- time employment shall be determined by the length of his service computed from the first day of his last hire as a full-time employee. Employees having less than six (6) months’ service with the Company shall be considered as having no seniority. After six (6) months’ service, the employee’s seniority shall be calculated from the date of his employment in accordance with the terms of this Agreement. Employees who are hired for specific temporary jobs shall have no seniority regardless of the length of service, unless said employees are transferred to the regular work force. In this event, seniority shall be calculated from the date of his assignment to fill a vacancy in a regular job and the usual six (6) months’ probationary period may then be required by the Company.
Acquisition of Seniority. A new employee will attain seniority after one (1) year from date of hire or appointment to the bargaining unit position. After completion of their probationary period, the employee’s seniority date shall be the date of hire or appointment to the bargaining unit position. Prior to the acquisition of seniority, an employee shall be on probationary status.
Acquisition of Seniority. Each new employee shall be hired as a probationary employee until the end of a probationary period of sixty (60) working days. The probationary period may be extended by mutual agreement between the District and the Union. Acquisition of Seniority. (a) After forty days of work within a seventy consecutive work day period, (excluding orientation) a new employee will acquire senior- ity and the employee shall be given a seniority date as of his/her first day of employment (orientation) worked within such 70 con- secutive work day period. If, however, the employee does not com- plete the 40 days within these 70 days his/her seniority date will be the first day of the 40 worked within any subsequent seventy (70) workday period. Time spent in the Company orientation program will not count toward the acquisition of seniority. This exemption shall be for a maximum of ten (10) days for Package and Air Drivers and five (5) days for all other positions. Newly hired employees attending orientation shall be paid at the daily rate of fifty ($50.00) dollars for full-time employees and twen- ty ($20.00) dollars for part-time employees. Any holidays listed in Article 9, Section 1 of this Agreement, falling within that seventy (70) consecutive work day period shall also count toward the acquisition of seniority.
(b) There shall be a free period, beginning October 15 and ending January 15 the following year, during which no employee can qual- ify for seniority.
(c) An employee who has been hired prior to October 15 and retained after January 15 or recalled within seventy (70) days after January 15 will retain credit for the number of days worked prior to October 15th. Those days retained will count towards the forty (40) days worked in a seventy (70) consecutive work day period com- mencing with the first (1st) day worked after January 15. These employees shall be given a seniority date as of his/her first day of employment (orientation) worked prior to the free period.
Acquisition of Seniority. A new employee and one who is re-employed after a break in his seniority shall not acquire any seniority under this Agreement until the expiration of 90 days of continuous service following employment. If such employee is continued in the employ of the Company after the expiration of the 90 day period, his seniority shall be computed from his last date of hire in accordance with the applicable provisions of this Agreement. Any separations of employment during said 90 day probationary period shall not be made the basis of a claim or grievance against the Company and there shall be no obligation to re-employ such person; provided, however, that this provision shall not be used for the purpose of discrimination, as discrimination is defined in Article 2, Section 2.3.
(a) A probationary employee shall not compete for a bonus pay job assignment, classification, location or shift, nor will a probationary employee be displaced from a classification, location or shift unless affected by the layoff of seniority employees.
Acquisition of Seniority. (a) The seniority of any employee who shall have completed six (6) months' full-time employment shall be determined by the length of his service computed from the first day of his last hire as an employee, except as otherwise provided in Section 2(b) of this Article 6.
(b) Temporary employees shall have no seniority, regardless of length of service. If a temporary employee is transferred to the Bargaining Unit, his seniority shall be computed from the first day of his last hire as a temporary employee, except as otherwise provided in Section 2(b) of this Article 6.
