Common use of Notification of Need for Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Notification of Need for Sick Leave. When an employee needs to use sick leave, he/she shall notify the person designated by his/her department head at least a half hour prior to the time he/she should report to work, except in case of emergency. Failure of an employee to notify the designated person within the time prescribed may cause the employee to lose the right to have his/her time off designated as sick leave.
