Common use of Operation of Sick Leave Bank Clause in Contracts

Operation of Sick Leave Bank. The Board shall, within thirty (30) calendar days after the beginning of the school year upon receipt of a properly completed and signed Sick Leave Bank Authorization Form, deduct one (1) day’s sick leave from the authorizing employee’s earned sick leave allotment. Individual participation in the Sick Leave Bank by certified teachers in the bargaining unit shall be voluntary but irrevocable. The Sick Leave Bank shall be for the use of certified teachers in the bargaining unit who have exhausted their sick leave accumulation and whose request has been approved by the Association. The Association shall establish and administer the policies and procedures of the Sick Leave Bank (for the complete set of said policies and procedures, see the Sick Leave Bank Guidelines, available through the Association) subject to the following limitations:
