Common use of Order of Layoff and Bumping Clause in Contracts

Order of Layoff and Bumping. Layoffs are identified by position within a classification by the Employer. A. If layoff/reduction in force vacates a classification which consists of only one (1) position filled by one (1) employee, that employee will be affected by layoff as provided in this Article. B. In all other cases, those employees least senior and least qualified occupying position(s) to be eliminated shall be designated as affected by layoff.
