Common use of Other Departments Clause in Contracts

Other Departments. An employee who is laid off may file a request, during a five (5) year period from the date of layoff, with any other department and shall be appointed to any permanent vacancy in the same or lower pay range from which he/she was laid off if he/she is qualified and capable of performing as determined by the Employer, providing that no other employee has restoration rights to such vacancy.
