Common use of Overtime Approval Clause in Contracts

Overtime Approval. All overtime must be pre-approved by a supervisor or designee. The Employer and the Association agree that overtime should be minimized. Overtime shall be computed to the nearest quarter hour. There shall be no pyramiding or duplication of overtime pay or premium pay paid at the rate of time and one-half (1½x). When a nurse is eligible for two (2) or more forms of premium pay and/or overtime pay, the nurse will receive the highest pay rate. Every effort will be made to discuss changes made to time records with the affected nurse prior to submission to payroll.
