Common use of Overtime Approval Clause in Contracts

Overtime Approval. All ove1iime must be approved by the Director/ Manager or designee. The Hospital and the Association agree that overtime should be discouraged. Overtime shall be computed to the nearest quarter hour. There shall be no pyramiding or duplication of overtime pay and/or other premium compensation paid at the rate of one-and one-half (1-1/2) the regular rate which would result in compensation ' exceeding one-and-one-half (1-1/2) for the same hours worked, except as provided elsewhere in the contract.

The Hospital Employer and the Association agree that overtime should be discouragedminimized. Overtime shall be computed to considered in effect if 15 minutes or more are worked after the nearest quarter hourend of the scheduled shift. There shall be no pyramiding or duplication of overtime pay and/or other premium compensation paid at the rate of one-one and one-half (1-1 1/2) the regular rate which would result in compensation ' exceeding one-and-one and one-half (1-1 1/2) for the same hours worked, except as provided elsewhere in the contract.
