Overtime Meal Allowance - Departments of Corrections and Youth Authority. 1. Overtime meal allowances will be granted when an employee is required to work at least two (2) consecutive hours prior to or two (2) consecutive hours after the regular work shift. If the employee is required to work for more extended periods of time, he/she may be allowed an additional meal allowance for each additional six-hour period of assigned work. No more than three (3) overtime meal allowances will be claimed during any 24-hour period.
