Common use of Paternity and/or Adoption Leave Clause in Contracts

Paternity and/or Adoption Leave. An employee who requests a paternity or adoption leave that qualifies under the Family Medical Leave Act for up to 12 weeks of job protected leave has the option to use his or her PTO days as paid days after the birth or adoption of the child. Upon receipt of a teacher's written request, the Superintendent will review the request for paternity or adoption leave and will make recommendations to the Board.
