Pay During Temporary Transfers. When an Employee temporarily substitutes in, or performs the principal duties of a higher paying position in the Bargaining Unit for a period in excess of one shift or more, the Employee shall be paid the entry rate in the salary range for the position that the Employee is temporarily substituting in, that is higher than the regular rate paid in his or her permanent position. When an Employee is temporarily assigned to a position paying a lower rate, his or her rate shall not be reduced.
