Pay During Temporary Transfers. When an employee temporarily substitutes in or performs the principal duties of a higher paying position for which a salary range has been established, for a minimum period of five (5) working days, the employee shall receive the lowest rate in the salary range of the position being performed which provides an increase of at least 3.0% higher than the previous rate. When an employee is assigned to a position paying a lower rate, the employee's rate shall not be reduced until after sixty (60) consecutive working days. For assignments of less than five (5) consecutive working days, an employee shall be paid his/her regular rate of pay.
